dear papers

imagine a world map, if you can. and if you did, please also try to picture this table whereon i work as a continent - a mass of land that floats in the middle of the pacific blue. then you can see also mountains and hills of papers that have been piled over a week.

these are the many pages of concern sent from many corners of the world that end on my desk. waiting for my touch.

and between those hills and highlands, jungles of newspapers are also there. leaving a small space for a glass full of water i consider as a spring.

well, i know that eventually i have to read them. every a b c of it all.

but dear papers, why are you so many? have you no other place to reside?

"hey that's no way to say goodbye..."

future history

you know some part of mine,
i know some part of yours.

if both of us would one day become history teachers
specializing in the history of each other

remembering the dates, names, places and events
and sometimes habbits or just customs

and eventually write a history book
co-authored just by the two of us.

what title would you give to that book?

both of me

if i were two, both of me would feel just as tired tonight. darker than the starless sky, colder than ice, lonelier than one.

you see, i am no more than one. a me inside a me.

the one who is like me is me.

but if i were two, i said, both of me would be just as exhausted yes tonight.

now that i am not two, leave alone three or four, i have to take it all accompanied by my shadow. thanks to the dim light that gives life to my shadow.

one more cup of coffee

you said, drinking coffee too often will make me addicted to it, and it wont be good for my health. the caffeine has hidden dangers.

and i appreciate your concern about my health. and i know that getting addicted to anything is not a wise thing.

but between coffee and me, i tell you, is not a matter of addiction.

it is about loyalty.

and as you see, coffee does not replace anything in my life. and i have no intention to substitute it or find any surrogate of it either.

i simply like it because it is unique. because it stands among very few things in our life, upon which we could agree that bitter is better.

but with you dear, of course, it is another case. since you are so sweet. and you warn me about the hidden dangers of coffee. and for that, i thank you.

on every street

"...and it's your face i'm looking for on every street."
